Aki

Aki may be a new face, but she’s already captured our hearts. This sweet mare, standing at approximately 10.2 hands high, was rescued from a local meat auction, and her journey with us has just begun. Now that her quarantine is complete, we’re excited to start working with her and getting to know her better. Aki has a unique look with her short tail, and we’re eager to watch her grow and settle into her new home.

Today, Aki received her initial shots, and by the first week in March, she will have completed the rest of her veterinary and farrier care. She’s now wearing a halter and responding well to touch, handling, and leading, thanks to our friends at

Red Horse Equine Services.

We believe her missing tail was the result of a significant injury, and it may never grow back. We’re planning to get body work done to help her and learn more about her needs and history.

​

Aki can be pushy and is still green, so she will need a knowledgeable home to continue her training. At this time, she is not safe for children to handle. We have clipped her, and the farrier has completed her first trim.
