Poncho

Poncho is a young hinny with a unique personality and lots of potential in the right home. He is still considered green and will require an experienced, patient handler who understands that building trust with him takes time.

While Poncho is comfortable with slow, gentle approaches and enjoys being petted once he knows you, he is not yet halter trained to lead or comfortable picking up his feet. Continued training and consistent handling will be essential to help him gain confidence.

Poncho forms incredibly strong bonds with his companions. He seems to prefer horses over donkeys and has shown a particular fondness for mares, although we feel his ideal home would be with geldings. Because he becomes deeply attached, any future home should be prepared to carefully manage introductions and separations. If he becomes anxious about where his companion is, he has been known to jump even high fences in an attempt to reunite with them.

Poncho would make a wonderful companion animal for someone who understands his unique needs and is willing to provide him with the time, patience, and secure environment he deserves. With the right home, he has every opportunity to continue growing in confidence and thrive.
