Rehabilitation & Permanent Members

at Tiny Tale Pony Rescue

At Tiny Tale Pony Rescue, we are committed to providing love, care, and healing for ponies and other equines who need it most. Our rehabilitation program focuses on restoring the health and well-being of animals with severe medical issues, giving them a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

Many of the ponies and donkeys in our care come to us with serious conditions—some of them life-threatening. Our dedicated team of veterinarians and volunteers work tirelessly to give them the treatment and comfort they need, but the cost of care is often high. That’s where you can make a difference.

Jack

Jack is currently in our care undergoing medical treatment and evaluation.

He is awaiting surgery for the removal of his right eye. Our veterinary team is closely monitoring him and will proceed with the procedure to ensure his comfort and long-term wellbeing.

We are focused on supporting Jack through this next stage of his recovery and will continue to share updates as he progresses.

Tony

Tony is currently in our care as we work to better understand and address some behavioural concerns.

He has been showing very stud-like behaviour. While there is no obvious external cause, there is a possibility that Tony may be cryptorchid, meaning a retained testicle that could be internal.

Further blood work has been scheduled for his April 17 veterinary appointment, which will help us determine the next steps in his care and treatment.

We will continue to monitor Tony closely and share updates as we learn more.

About Whiskey

Whiskey is currently in our care receiving medical support after arriving with an old injury to his eye.

Due to the severity of the previous injury, his eye will need to be removed to ensure he can live a comfortable, pain-free life moving forward.

Our veterinary team is guiding his treatment plan, and we’re committed to giving Whiskey the care, recovery time, and support he needs during this next stage of healing.

We’ll continue to share updates as Whiskey progresses through rehabilitation.

Remembering Bucky

We’ve recently had to say goodbye to Bucky, and while it’s always difficult to let one of our herd go, we want to take a moment to honour his memory.

Bucky was only 7 years old when he came into our care. Gentle and full of potential, he quickly touched the hearts of everyone who met him. After X-rays revealed a significant hip injury that could not heal, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully.

Though his time with us was far too short, Bucky left a lasting impression. His quiet strength, kind eyes, and brave spirit will not be forgotten. We’re grateful for the chance to know him, care for him, and give him love during his time here.

Rest easy, Bucky—you’ll always be remembered.

Remembering Kaloni

We’ve recently had to say goodbye to Kaloni, and while it’s never easy to see a team member go, we want to take a moment to honour the time we shared.

Kaloni brought warmth, kindness, and a unique energy to our team. Her presence made a lasting impact—not just through the work she did, but through the way she made people feel. Whether it was offering a supportive word, lending a helping hand, or simply showing up with a smile, Kaloni made a difference.

Though we’re sad to see her go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything she contributed during her time with us. We wish her all the best as she steps into this next chapter and know she’ll continue to shine wherever she lands.

Thank you, Kaloni—you’ll be missed.

Permanent Residents at Tiny Tales

While our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome miniature horses and ponies, some special cases find a forever home with us. These permanent residents require specialized care due to age, medical needs, or unique circumstances. Providing them with a stable and loving environment is our commitment, and with your support, we can continue to offer them the best possible care.

Meet Sarah – Our Senior Mare & Farm Mascot

Sarah’s journey to Tiny Tales is a testament to the love and dedication of her previous family. When they faced a big move and transporting Sarah wasn’t an option, they reached out for a solution that would ensure her ongoing well-being. Having originally been adopted from our friends at Pipsqueak Paddocks, everyone came together to find the perfect place for her golden years—leading her to us!

As our first official exception to the rehoming mandate, Sarah has become a beloved mascot on the farm. With her gentle spirit and wise eyes, she captures the hearts of everyone who visits. Volunteers enjoy taking her on regular walks, and she thrives on the affection she receives from all who pass by.

Caring for a senior horse comes with its challenges, from specialized diets to medical needs, and we are honored to provide her with a stable, loving home. You can follow along with Sarah’s adventures on social media or contribute to her ongoing care through the link below. Every donation helps us continue providing the support she deserves!

How You Can Help Support Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation efforts come at a great cost. From surgeries and medications to ongoing treatments, caring for our most vulnerable animals, like Rio, requires significant financial resources. Your support can make a real difference in their lives. Every donation goes directly toward their medical care, helping to ensure they get the treatment and love they need to heal and thrive.

If you’d like to contribute to the rehabilitation of these animals, please consider donating today. Your generosity provides them with a second chance at a brighter future, and we are deeply grateful for your help.

For updates on Rio and our other rehabilitation stories, follow us on Instagram, where we share their progress and heartwarming journeys. Together, we can make sure they receive the care they need and find loving homes.
